I was born in a small city called Sao Leopoldo, south of Brazil. Only child but plenty of cousins to call brothers and sisters!
Growing up in a poor neighbourhood can be a challenging experience. It can often mean living in areas with limited resources and opportunities, and facing social and economic barriers that can make it difficult to succeed.
I’ve been blessed with an amazing mother that taught me the foundation for the success: discipline, resilience, determination, and a strong work ethic. I was always encouraged to understand that those life circumstances would not define me and that I should never give up on my dreams.
I'm a firm believer everyone should be treated equally, regardless of gender, race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, or religion, and that united we stand.
Outside of design, I love to road-trips, sports, nature, animals, music, books and a good BBQ with friends!
I always had a passion for healthcare and helping others which lead me to study radiology. As a radiographer, I spent several years working in a public hospital, where I was responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic imaging examinations using all sort of specialised equipment.
I’ve used all my technical skills and compassion to provide high-quality services to patients in need, and helped to put them at ease during that stressful period of pain and discomfort. I was always mindful of their needs and worked to create a warm and welcoming environment.
Besides treating patients I also managed many groups of young students starting their journeys in the field.
I ultimately decided to change career paths from radiography to technology. I enrolled in a design programs and learned a wide range of skills as UI and UX design.
Throughout my studies and internships, I developed a strong passion for designing products that solve real-world problems and enhance people's lives. I’ve been fortunate always have great colleagues and teams that pushed me to be a better designer.
Despite the change in careers, I am grateful for my time as a radiographer, which taught me valuable human skills and helped me to develop a strong foundation in understanding people’s needs in real life. Those unique skills combined with my design skills give me an edge in the creation process, and have served me well so far in my career as a product designer, and I am excited to continue learning and growing.
