Who is Eclat?
Eclat is introducing a new type of workspace that brings together business, hospitality, and a focus on personal relationships to provide unexpected moments of delight for members.
Eclat has created a new way of working that combines style and service in its exclusive, members-only work spaces. These places feature elegant amenities, custom private offices, and a focus on culture and top-quality service.
The company's name, "Eclat," means "to be brilliant," and this is reflected in every aspect of their service. From technology to in-person interactions, Eclat strives to exceed member expectations at every touchpoint. Ensuring the quality of their technological deployment is essential to achieving this goal.
The challenge
Our team was assigned the project of creating a customised application that aligns with Eclat's innovative vision for co-working spaces. Design is a crucial aspect of this development, as it will highlight the distinctive features offered by the client.
The technological solution must have the capability to grow as Eclat plans to expand to other locations, both within the country and abroad. While the proposed timeline and deadlines were tight, we were able to remain responsive despite working with third-party partners who had their own dependencies.
My role in this project
In the app design project, I was tasked with improving existing designs, creating new screens based on UX research and the client's expectations, and designing the visual aesthetic of the EDMs, requiring close collaboration with the design team and ECLAT’s team.
I also worked with the development team to create the majority of the main animations. These efforts significantly contributed to the project's success.
Our approach
Our team proposed a two-week discovery phase to thoroughly examine the end-to-end customer journey and create personas to understand each journey. Data and research played significant roles in the project to provide a cohesive experience that encompassed multiple touch-points. In addition to the project itself, our team suggested that Eclat adopt an Agile Delivery methodology.
We implemented a 7-weeks sprint plan and held regular ceremonies to increase engagement with Eclat's product teams on a daily and weekly basis. Our practice leads were deeply involved in key decisions, with leadership support.
The Eclat team was successful working in this manner throughout the project, and our team blended well with the Eclat team, consistently managing scope and backlog and effectively integrating all third-party technologies and negotiating with providers to ensure a smooth experience for Eclat.
The solution

Complete design & user synthesis
To begin the process, our team carried out initial research and developed hi-fi prototypes for Eclat. We then used customer feedback to refine the chosen design and create a refined final concept for delivery.
Replicatable solution with scalability
We kept in mind the possibility of expanding the solution as Eclat opened more offices in Australia and overseas. The resulting solution was to design with scalability and flexibility in mind.
Highlight the product experience
The Eclat co-working app offers a one-of-a-kind experience. Users can use their smart devices to access a customisable booking system that combines the best aspects of co-working, hospitality, and community.

Findings
The results of the client interviews were analysed and used to create guidelines for designing prototypes. These were the results:
Unlock access to building, offices & parking through the app;
Order Food, Beverages and Catering;
Allow guests to book menu items through the app;
Book meeting rooms;
Provide Bureau members with an app that delivers a bespoke experience;
Provide Parlor members with a unique experience so they aspire to become a Bureau member.
The inspiration
The UI inspiration for our design concepts comes from interior design elements, such as colour schemes, textures, and patterns. The feel of our design concept is luxurious and sophisticated, evoking a sense of high-end, high-quality design. The colour palette is predominantly neutral, aiming to create a cohesive and visually appealing experience for our users.
We also incorporate patterns into the design, using repeating geometric shapes or abstract designs to add interest and movement to the interface. These patterns can be subtle or bold, depending on the desired aesthetic.
Overall, the design concept is intuitive and user-friendly, creating a visually pleasing and cohesive experience for our users, drawing inspiration from interior design elements to achieve this goal.
UI Kit and visual identity
Eclat's visual identity reflects their elite, innovative, and hospitality-focused nature, which helps them connect with clients seeking a refined co-working experience. We created a UI kit and design system specifically for Eclat using Figma components, text styles, motion guidelines, and a colour palette. These tools enable designers to work more efficiently and allow Eclat to iterate on their design in the future.
The result
Our team successfully delivered an unique, custom-made application that places the customer at the centre of the design process. The Eclat mobile application reflects the company's dedication to hospitality and aesthetics, making it stand out in the market.
